This short (1 hour) workshop will demonstrate the new Open Data Cube (ODC) Google Sandbox. This free and open programming interface connects users to Google Earth Engine datasets and allows execution of Python application algorithms using Google's Colab notebook environment. This tool demonstrates rapid creation of science products anywhere in the world without the need to download and process the satellite data. Some example applications include: scene-based cloud statistics, custom cloud-filtered mosaics, spectral index products including vegetation fractional cover, historic water extent, and vegetation land change. Basic operation of the tool can support many users for small-scale analyses and training and can be further scaled to address the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This activity is supported by CEOS and the Open Earth Alliance (GEO community activity).
